A bit more about Carmen?
I am married and have two children. I was an Air Force wife for 25 years. I have been doing photography for 16 years. Just in the past year or so I have felt I need to improve and grow more in my photography. I am a member of Metroppa, Ppok, Inppa, Texas ppa, and the PPA.
How did you become interested in Photography?
My father used to do it and I always loved watching him . It also helps release my stress.
What advice would you give someone just starting a photography business OR What advice would you give someone just starting to learn photography?
Always learn all you can and never stop learning.
What type of photography do you specialize in and why?
I really do not have a specific genre.
Whats one skill you would like to develop or sharpen this year?
Using lighting with studio lights and understanding it more.
Whats the best piece of career advice you ever received?
Never hang on one person’s opinion because others may not feel the same as the one.
Whats your biggest or one of your biggest professional accomplishments so far?
Winning best photo for first time entrants.
When you are not working what do you like to spend your time doing?
Reading or thinking of what else I want to capture on my camera.
What is your favorite thing about Metro PPA?
Learning all the new things and meeting fellow photographers.
Why should someone join Metro PPA?
Networking with other photographers who are running a photography business.
Whats something about you a fun fact not many people know?
I had a pet squirrel when I was five. Then later my nickname was squirrel because I was very hyper.
